Portraits of Purpose

PORTRAITS OF PURPOSE

Portraits of prominent black Bostonians and major figures with a vision and quest to bring about a better world.   First exhibited in 1997 at the Museum of African American history on Beacon Hill in Boston, a second installment was exhibited the following year, again at the Museum.  Each exhibition included an additional component called a "Century Conversation", a dialogue with some of the individuals featured in the exhibit.  This program drew standing room audiences and was moderated the first year by Professor Charles Ogletree and the second year by Marion Heard.
