BIOGRAPHY
With 30 years of experience, Don West is today one of Boston's best-known and most sought after professional
photographers. His event
photography, portraits, commercial and corporate work, news and editorial
photography and his fine art photography have garnered him numerous awards,
exhibitions and a diverse clientele from the public, private and non-profit
sectors.
Getting his start in the newspaper business with United Press International (UPI) and Boston's Bay State Banner newspaper, Don soon gained special news and editorial assignments from major publications such as The New York Times and The Boston Globe. As his work became known, Don became an in-demand special event and portrait photographer for a diverse clientele spanning business, education, the arts, politics, religion, and community service.
Don's passion has been to
use his talent to profile all kinds of people — ordinary and extraordinary –
capturing their unique spirit at work, at the events which shape their lives,
with their families and in their struggle for what they believe. His work
has taken him throughout the United States, Latin America, Africa and
China from which he has developed several traveling exhibitions.
